CoCA at NCECA’s Future Flux

Fiona Green, YAG Collections Facilitator for Art, reflects on Future Flux held from 22nd – 25th March 2017.

Future Flux was the 51st annual conference for the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts (NCECA) which myself, Helen Walsh, Curator of Ceramics and Ian McIntyre, our research artist from Manchester Metropolitan University, attended.

The whole conference was a whirlwind of lectures, seminars, demonstrations, off-site exhibitions and general clay networking.

The Evocative Garden was NCECA’s main exhibition outside of the conference so we journeyed through the city of Portland to find it at the Disjecta Contemporary Arts Centre. The theme of the exhibition was to reference and explore images of gardens and nature, and to witness human connection to the natural world.
