Associate Head of School, Associate Professor of Design, Award Leader for BA(Hons) Designer Maker, School Art, Design and Architecture, University of Plymouth

Areas of specialist interest: 

Originally studying ceramics at Wolverhampton, CSULB and Cardiff Polly is now Award Leader for BA(Hons) Designer Maker and leads a group of internationally acclaimed practitioners who teach the thinking, inventing, designing, creating, manufacturing, constructing, building, producing and making of objects and artefacts in mixed materials.

Her creative research comes under the themes of Mapping, Journey and Movement and there are a variety of different ways in which she has successfully executed these ideas through the mixing of materials (eg. clay, combustibles & concrete), sound investigation & film/stills to produce objects, drawings and images.


Polly is a Maker, Educator and Researcher.
She is an Associate Professor in Design, Award Leader for Designer Maker & Associate Head of School in the School of Art, Design and Architecture at the University of Plymo

Associate Professor in Design & Award Leader for BA(Hons) Designer Maker.
The Designer Maker award focuses on hands-on exploration and work with a range of materials and skills to create expressive designs in furniture, ceramics and lighting for one-off or batch production.

Associate Head of School – Enterprise, School of Art, Design and Architecture – University of Plymouth.
Within the Polly she is leads the Enterprise agenda developing Academic Excellence and External Enterprise/Creative Industries based activities.
