- Architecture and design, primarily the European avant-gardes of the early twentieth century, such as the Bauhaus, Dada, Constructivism, abstract art.
Profile:
I have been researching and teaching the history of modern art for more than twenty-five years, during which time I have published a number of books on topics such as De Stijl and Dada, as well as a great many articles and book chapters. I have been involved in curating exhibitions at Tate Modern and Tate Liverpool, and also acted in an advisory capacity for the Gemeentemuseum Den Haag.
